Las Na Zawsze is working towards the long-term protection of mature, biodiverse forests in Poland. With over 40 hectares already protected, they are working to ensure vital ecosystems can grow in peace. The organization has also planted over 150 hectares of new, native forests, which are free from economic activity.
Based in Indonesia, Sungai Watch is on a mission to stop plastic from entering the ocean. Through our commitment to 1% for the Planet we're proud to have the opportunity to sponsor a new river barrier in the Kerobokan area. As of August 2025, this barrier prevented 4,126kg of waste from flowing into the ocean.
While spending time there, Bookinglayer's founder, Tim, came across the work of Costas Verdes, an organization focused on restoring coastal ecosystems by planting native trees along degraded shorelines. Curious to learn more, he connected with the team, visited their nursery, and saw firsthand how they're rebuilding landscapes that have been lost over time. This is exactly why Bookinglayer is part of 1% for the Planet - to support initiatives that protect and restore the places we love and that our clients and their guests rely on.
Every day, women in Sri Lanka live steps from the ocean and never once feel like it belongs to them. That's the reality SeaSisters Sri Lanka is working to change, and it's why we're excited to support them through our 1% for the Planet membership. SeaSisters is a nonprofit in Sri Lanka that teaches local women and girls to swim and surf, often for the first time in their lives. Many of the women in their programs have lived by the ocean their entire lives but were never given the permission, or the confidence, to enter it.
The Wildlife Conservation Network works with conservation partners to protect critical wildlife around the world. Previously, our support helped the Macaw Recovery Network protect and recover endangered Macaws in the Americas.
